LIFE, SENIOR ACTIVE AND JUNIOR ACTIVE MEMBERS SHALL BE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN ALL CLASSES AT REGULAR COMPETITIONS, EVENTING COMPETITIONS AT THE PRELIMINARY LEVEL OR ABOVE AND COMBINED DRIVING COMPETITIONS AT THE ADVANCED LEVEL, DRESSAGE AND VAULTING COMPETITIONS AND ENDURANCE RIDES PROVIDED THE RESPECTIVE BREED/DISCIPLINE DUES OR BREED/DISCIPLINE CATEGORY FEE HAS BEEN PAID. A NON-MEMBER MAY PARTICIPATE AS A HANDLER, RIDER, DRIVER, OWNER, LESSEE, AGENT, COACH OR TRAINER AT REGULAR COMPETITIONS, EVENTING COMPETITIONS, DRESSAGE COMPETITIONS AND COMBINED DRIVING COMPETITIONS UPON PAYMENT OF A $20. NON-MEMBER REGISTRATION FEE AND A $5 BREED/DISCIPLINE CATEGORY FEE FOR EACH BREED/DISCIPLINE. PARTICIPANTS IN THE FOLLOWING CLASSES ARE EXEMPTED FROM THE REQUIREMENTS OF THIS RULE; 1) LEADLINE; 2) EXHIBITIONS; 3) GAMES AND RACES; 4) CLASSES FOR 4-H MEMBERS; 5) WALK TROT AND ACADEMY CLASSES (Academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson program); 6) USDF INTRODUCTORY LEVEL TESTS, PAS DE DEUX AND QUADRILLE CLASSES. ALSO EXEMPTED FROM THIS REQUIREMENT ARE RESIDENTS OF OTHER NATIONS WHO ARE MEMBERS IN GOOD STANDING OF THEIR NATIONAL FEDERATION, AND 7)USEA BEGINNER NOVICE DIVISION, 8) ASSISTANT HANDLERS IN DRESSAGE SPORT HORSE BREEDING CLASSES; AND 9) CITIZENS OF OTHER NATIONS WHO ARE MEMBERS IN GOOD STANDING OF THEIR NATIONAL FEDERATIONS AND, IN THE CASE OF RIDERS, DRIVERS OR VAULTERS COMPETING IN DISCIPLINES RECOGNIZED BY THE FEI, IN POSSESSION OF A FOREIGN COMPETITOR’S LICENSE TO COMPETE IN NATIONAL COMPETITIONS, WHICH HAS BEEN ISSUED BY THE FEDERATION. Every class offered herein which is covered by the Rules and Specifications of the current U.S.E.F. Rule Book will be conducted in accordance therewith. In all classes wherein the rules of the U.S.E.F. do not apply, association rules, if applicable, or Management in all other cases, shall settle any dispute or question that may arise and its decision shall be final. Management reserves the right to refuse, accept conditionally, or to cancel entries, disqualify riders or exhibitors, prohibit exhibition or entries, and cancel or combine classes, or to reschedule classes, to change rings or rotate judges; and to change specifications in jumper classes. Management may designate a jumping order, use THE ONE MINUTE RULE, and/or use a “dotted line”.

Vans and trailers will be allowed in the
stable area ONLY TO LOAD OR UNLOAD.
PARKING AREAS WILL BE ENFORCED AND VIOLATORS
WILL BE TOWED AT OWNER’S EXPENSE.

All horses entered must be named on the entry blank including horses shown only in equitation where the rider is being judged. Owners and exhibitors are responsible for all horses and fees incurred by them or their agents.
Entry blanks will be accepted ONLY when signed by the owner, rider or handler AND trainer. They must be accompanied by a check for stabling fees. ONLY AN OPEN CHECK OR CREDIT CARD SECURES YOUR STALL RESERVATION. A $25 POST ENTRY FEE will be charged once show has begun. All non-showing horses are required to have a signed entry blank in the office, $100 non-showing fee and stall per horse per show.
In all rated Hunter Divisions “All classes will be judged on performance and soundness unless otherwise noted” in the prize list.
A negative Coggins test certificate dated within 1 year is required for admittance to the grounds.
Parents or guardians of minor exhibitors shall hold the Management, Staff and Facility harmless for any injury to such minor. No minor’s entry will be accepted unless it is signed by a parent or guardian. UNLICENSED MINORS CAN NOT DRIVE MOTORIZED VEHICLES ON FENCE PROPERTY- INCLUDING GOLF CARTS (Article GR301).
Any division that is split because of age, size, etc. may be combined if there are less than 8 entries per section. Prize money will not be combined.
Every horse entered for competition will be under the control of the Horse Show Management, but the Management will, in no case, be responsible for any loss or damage that may occur, and it shall be a condition of entry that each exhibitor shall hold the Horse Show, its Directors and Employees, the Management and the Facility harmless for any loss or accident to his horse, horses or equipment which may occur from sickness, fire or otherwise.
NON-NEGOTIABLE CHECKS
Checks returned by the bank for any reason will be assessed a penalty of $50.00 or 10% of the check amount, whichever is greater. Upon notification of a returned check, accounts will be given three (3) days to make full payment, including the penalty, which must be paid in certified funds, cashier’s check or money order. Overnight mail service is advised in order to avoid notification of the sanctioning organizations for disciplinary action.
PRIZE MONEY
The owner of any horse-pony exhibited in classes where prize money is awarded MUST provide a Social Security number or Federal ID number on the entry. Prize money will be applied as a credit on your account at the show office. Checks for the difference will be available in the horse show office and must be cashed within 60 days.
STABLING
302 Permanent stalls of wood construction, 10x10 with doors, are available. No Temporary stalls. The cost of stalls will be $160 for the show. After Closing Date stalls are $180. ONE ANIMAL PER STALL. NO SHARING OF STALLS ALLOWED.
Stalls will be available at 8:00 a.m. on June 12th/July 10th. If you plan to arrive earlier you MUST call ahead so that arrangements can be made. Early arrival cost is $15 per day per stall. Call 800-438-3681 or 859-6109 for reservations.
A grounds fee of $50 per horse will be charged to all day shippers, whether showing or not. A special parking area will be designated and all day shippers must check in at the show office immediately upon arrival on the show grounds.
Shavings orders may be placed in the show office only by noon each day.
REFUNDS
No Nominating Fees Will Be Refunded. Cancellation prior to closing entitles a full refund. After show begins, ALL refunds are subject to a $50 charge plus any fees owed and will only be given with show veterinarian’s certificate.
CREDENTIALS
NO NUMBERS WILL BE RELEASED UNTIL PROPER CREDENTIALS AND ALL SIGNATURES ARE IN ORDER. All exhibitors must have their current membership cards with them or a copy thereof, or send a copy of their card with their entry blank. Effective 12/1/02 ALL horses competing in U.S.E.F. recognized competitions must have a Horse ID Number - they are FREE - Please see Article #811.
All exhibitors in the Pony and Junior Hunter sections must present their measurement cards at the office before numbers will be released. All Pony and Junior Hunters who do not possess a current measurement card will be measured at a time and place to be announced. PLEASE INCLUDE COPIES OF MEASUREMENT CARDS WITH ENTRIES TO FACILITATE PROCESSING.
All exhibitors in Amateur sections must present their amateur certification at the office before numbers will be released. PLEASE INCLUDE COPIES OF AMATEUR CARDS WITH ENTRIES TO FACILITATE PROCESSING.
Discourtesy to an official by any owner, rider, trainer or groom will disqualify any horses with which they are associated and fees for horses forfeited.
RINGS/FOOTING
All rings and warm-up areas are on all weather footing. Ring A: 152x277(Hunter I); Ring B: 130x300(Jumper) and Ring C: 150x287(Hunter II)
LUNGING
Lunging in lunging rings only.
PROTECTIVE HEADGEAR
All exhibitors are required to wear properly-fitting protective headgear on the show grounds when mounted. Additionally, all juniors must wear properly-fitting protective headgear with harness secured and properly fitted while riding in designated schooling and exercise areas, the show ring and while jumping anywhere on the show grounds. The U.S.E.F. encourages all riders to wear protective headgear passing or surpassing current applicable ASTM standards with harness secured while riding anywhere on the show grounds. It is the responsibility of the rider, parent, guardian or trainer of the junior exhibitor to see to it that the headgear worn complies with appropriate safety standards and is properly fitted and in good condition.
RV/CAMPER SPACES
Water and electric hookups are available, but a limited number(14). CONTAINED CAMPERS MUST BE IN DESIGNATED AREAS. Camper fee of $200 is assessed; this includes trailers with living quarters which are connected to any electric or water service on the grounds.
SCHOOLING
Schooling areas are approximately 100’x200’ with additional open areas. No schooling over fences allowed in Show Rings prior to showing each day; allowed after show at Management’s discretion. Starters have the authority to scratch riders who do not follow directions.
SHOW GROUND RULES
Dogs must be leashed and under control or $50 will be assessed the owner and dog may be impounded by Polk County Animal Control.
Motorized vehicles of any kind, including golf carts, ATC’S and scooters, MUST be operated byLICENSED DRIVERS ONLYin accordance with state,local,and facility laws. Fail-ure to abide by these regulations will subject the exhibitor to suspensions from the horse show.
Helmets must ALWAYS be worn when mounted.
Concession stand, will be open each day until close of show. Exhibitors responsible for charges incurred.
NO horses/ponies allowed on track for any reason except to cross from stabling areas to show rings where necessary.
Parking in designated areas only. All others will be towed at owner’s expense.
Farrier on grounds, across from show office, each day from 6:30 a.m. until sunset.
ALL shavings orders should be placed in the show office and not with those delivering your order.
